Singapore, 26 September 2005 – Asia-Pacific’s
leading travel facilitator, Abacus International, today announced
the appointment of Mr Jack Zhai Fu Hua as General Manager
of Abacus’ China operations.
Mr Zhai, a veteran in the air transport industry with more
than 25 years experience, was most recently a consultant with
Beijing Asia Pacific Cargo, an international freight forwarding
company. Prior to that, he held senior appointments with CAAC,
Air China, Snecma Services and Singapore Airlines in China.
Don Birch, President & CEO of Abacus International said,
“With Jack heading Abacus’ China operations, I
am confident that we will be able to grow Abacus’ business
in the region, especially in the key markets of Beijing, Guangzhou
and Shanghai.
“China is today the key driver for Asian travel and
tourism, with an almost unlimited growth potential. Jack’s
extensive experience in the China market will be valuable
as we seek to take advantage of the rising opportunities in
the region, as well as further developing our key relationships
with travel partners in Greater China,” Mr Birch continued.
Mr Zhai will be responsible for driving Abacus’ business
development activities in China. He will also have accountability
for developing business strategies and solutions to help the
company better meet the needs of its customers in the region.
From 26 September, Mr Zhai will be based in Beijing China
and will reports to Mr Patrick Lai, Vice President, North
Asia, Abacus International.
